The Christmas Lights will be switched on in Milford and Belper on Sunday 24th November.

Taking place in Milford first, the Christmas Lights will be switched on at Milford Triangle by Belper Town Mayor, Councillor Sue Devine, at 4.45pm. She will be joined by Santa and his elves.

They will then travel to Belper to switch on the Christmas Lights there at 5.45pm. The Mayor will be joined by soon-to-be husband and wife team, Derbyshire born and bred broadcaster Sally Pepper, the host of the Truly Madly Derby podcast and Ed Dawes, the voice of Derby County on BBC Radio Derby for more than a decade.

There will be stalls on the Market Place, provided by local charities and voluntary groups.

Olaf and his elf friend will be joining us between 5.30pm – 7.30pm and we will have music from a traditional hand organ. Santa will also be in his grotto meeting all the children.

Entertainment will come from Elite Elton, an Elton John tribute act, who will perform in the Memorial Gardens between 6pm – 7pm.

This event will be combined with the Winter Food and Gift Fair taking place throughout Belper on the same day.

Parking
Free parking is available centrally at the Coppice Car Park.

Chargeable parking is available at Field Lane Car Park.

Green Lane Car Park will be closed to the public from 6am – 9pm on the day.

Road Closures
To ensure the safe running of the event, there will be road closures in place.

From 6am – 9pm on Sunday 24th November the following roads will be closed:

King Street from its junction with Market Head to its junction with Chapel Street
Campbell Street from its junction with King Street to its junction with New Road
Strutt Street from its junction with King Street to the Co-Op car park entrance
Green Lane from its junction with King Street to the Green Lane Car Park entrance
